Divide and Cash In!

The sad truth!

                                                  

 'Divide and cash in!", seems to be the media's mantra.

We're all dancing the 'Stir Up Hate for Ratings Conga'!

I've never seen it this partisan and lowly before.

Politics as entertainment, truth to the rear, and gossip to the fore.

Something so important, reduced to the blame game.

The days of impartial reporting are over, we'll never be the same,

with the truth as the victim, and we as the unwitting pawns.

We blindly buy what they are selling, and it is a con.

No more Uncle Walter, and we don't bat an eye.

Now, it's left up to us to choose what are the who and why.

I guess most are too young to remember how it used to be.

Now something won't sell unless it's divisive and inflammatory.

A hollowed-out shadow--the truth and the media on life-support,

with what is obvious, shown only as a last resort.
