Ear Today, Gone Tomorrow!A Poem by Michael StevensSounds reasonable!![]() This poem is a tribute to Vincent Van Gogh.
Such a troubled genius, don't you know? I can't tell you how many times
I've thought, "I got nothing," good
writing ideas flowed, not! Then I thought about hacking off my
own ear when my ability to create, she
would disappear. Such a natural response to
unbearable stress, when you find yourself in a
non-creative mess. But I disgusted myself because I
couldn't, it would hurt! Plus, it would really do a number
on my clean white shirt. So I did what I always do, ideas or
not, I plowed ahead. I may not be ear-less, but I'm just brain-less instead!
