Life!

Out of the blue, surprise! Don't get too comfortable

in the batter's box--cause Fate's pitching, and you're not invulnerable.

A little chin music is headed your way--another busy day

has begun--and Fate doesn't care if you don't want to play.

It's a high hard one, heaved right at your head.

All your scheduled and best laid plans turn to chaos instead.

 

No matter how much you try to stay driving straight down the track,

you're going to have a break down, and have to be towed back

to the pits, and I do mean 'pits'--yes, time swings a hammer, indeed,

I think even the most optimistic among us would have to concede!
