I Can Count To Ten!

I Can Count To Ten!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

It's a BIG day, yes sir, a BIG day!

"

I don't want to brag, but I can count to ten,

without training wheels for the signals it sends

to my brain--for those of you hard of hearing, I'll say that again.

I CAN COUNT TO TEN--I fought the numbers battle, and I did win!

I know I'm ten plus ten plus ten plus ten plus ten, plus three,

but give me a break, yes, a break is due for me,

for I've been trying to get here since I was a wee lad,

for at anything math-related, I'm terribly sad!

I've been told that in mathematics, I'm a little behind.

Anytime 'little' and 'behind' are used and combined,

in a description of me, well, I'll count that as good news.

Hey, don't judge me until you've walked in my shoes!

I won't say 'a mile' because I can't make it that far.

Just to change my mind, I'll hop in the car!

So, as you can imagine, I'm partying hardy

because, as you can see, I ain't so damn sorry!
