Hiding in Plain Site (Spelling Mistake Intentional)

Hiding in Plain Site (Spelling Mistake Intentional)

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

A double-edged sword

"

Dawn breaks, and the internet is born.

Such a convenient way to vent your ire and scorn.

Hiding in plain sight, it's the weak-kneed's electronic friend.

an easy way to air the venom that you've penned.

On the internet, you're unseen, and unrestrained.

Anyone can say anything, whether Einstein, or cow-brained.

No repercussions, you're free to libel and defame.

The weak of heart become giant killers, with the same

platform as the strong--with the same electronic launching pad,

safely hidden from retaliation, except with words--sad

in a way that even while it gives people a voice,

it also is an avenue to make the wrong choice

and air something that there will be no taking back

once it's said--it's a test for judgment that too many lack.
