Okay, I'll Admit It!

Okay, I'll Admit It!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

I'm dorked in the head!

"
Okay, I'll Admit It!

Well I've finally reached a point, and it's hard to admit--that point

where you have to say to yourself, "I'm sure to disappoint

if anyone takes my advice to heart, yes, I'm an idiot.

I'm dispensing bad advice and theories, where if the reader bet

based on my beliefs, he or she would be living in a van, down by the river!

Cause what do I know? A steady stream of 'wrong' is what I'll deliver.

After all, I've been saying for months, 'Trump ain't going to last!'

Well, "ehhhh!' wrong--oh so wrong, my soothsaying days are sinking so fast!

I've always subscribed to the conventional wisdom theory, you know the one

that politically at least, the rules never change, there's nothing new under the sun!

He's hyena-laughed in the face of every tried and true.

We're getting closed to the edge of the world, to being so screwed!

He's made fun of woman, other countries, even the handicapped.

Into a hidden vein of third grade, he's apparently tapped.

He's got to wonder, 'what more can I do? how much further

can I push people's common sense, before it's too far, as it were?

I once famously said, 'please, let him be the nominee!"

Well, I was dorked in the head--this I now totally see.

Every time I think, "that's it, he's really said the wrong thing now,

his hate-filled campaign ship is going down by the bow,"

like an inflatable child's clown, he pops right back to fully erect.

He's like the indestructible candidate, with his own private sect

of nastiness, of sexism, of spite, of pettiness about to be seen and heard,

loudly--you know what, I'm giving him attention while he's flipping us all the bird!
