Echo's

Echo's

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

memories

"

From years lost in your yesterdays,

come echo's of things that used to be.

Melancholy reflections, happy ones--gateways

of your past color all the spectrum of memories.

Some will haunt, never seem to leave you in peace.

Some bring joy, as the soundtrack of your life plays

in the background, these reminders never cease.

A gentle, or not so gentle, reminder of long-ago days.

Michael, This is a stunningly beautiful write. We all reflect on our long-ago yesterdays, and when most of us find ourselves in these reflective moods the good memories tend to greatly outnumber the not so good ones. I believe that our minds have a filter that scrubs the bad recollections from our memory, leaving it populated by our mostly good memories, blowing through like a gentle summer breeze.
Excellent piece of writing, my friend. take care...dan
