Neanderthal in Thoughtful Clothing

Neanderthal in Thoughtful Clothing

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Take a guess!

"

Verse:

Hate and ridicule take the place of thoughtful deeds.

He's preaching red meat to the wolverines it feeds.

Volcanic vitriol spewed at near the speed of light.

Gets off on the adulation, and he's anything but contrite.

Pre-Chorus:

I promised myself I wouldn't give him what he wants,

which is attention, but the specter of him haunts.

Verse:

A venting of the spleen comes to every network,

lit up by his taunting, and that a*****e smirk.

He's living proof that humans have devolved.

The mystery of his appeal, to me, remains unsolved.

Pre-Chorus:

Automatic bullshit in his frown a mile wide.

In his brain, reality and patronize collide.

Chorus:

He's a Neanderthal in Thoughtful Clothing.

My faith in mankind's future, he's eroding.

Reverend Hateful is preaching to his choir.

He's the ultimate used car salesman, and a born liar.

Verse:

Anger and intractability have replaced disagreement but respect,

from a knuckle-dragging Neanderthal who barely walks erect.

Shouts down disagreement, and ridicules the other side.

Excuse me, Don, but this crap has already been tried.

Repeat Pre-Chorus:

Repeat Chorus:

End
