The Sky is Crying!A Poem by Michael StevensBig-a*s hurricane!![]() Verse:
I've heard it said, 'the sky is
crying,' when it's raining. so would it be, 'the sky is crying
frozen tears,' when it's hailing, or, 'the sky's taking a frozen
dump,' when there's snow? Or, 'I'm a lucky b*****d!' when
there's a mighty blow?
Pre-Chorus: So what would you say when there's a hurricane, when the whole world's gone crazy insane?
Verse:
When outside becomes in, cause the wind's
150 miles per hour, and you've sheltered, not in a real
shelter, but in your shower. Golf-ball sized hail's calling your
name--knocking at your door, Looks like a war zone, with
blown-down trees and branches galore.
Repeat Pre-Chorus:
Chorus:
'The Sky is Screaming!' would be
the perfect descriptive phrase, when you expect flimsy plastic to
do anything--when on the floor you lays, cowering and praying that this blow
won't be your last, and that the rescuers looking
through rubble don't find you bare-assed!
Verse:
You hear the 'take cover' sirens,
and you think, 'no s**t!, and this fricking shower stall
ain't helping a bit!' Then a 2x4 sails through the air,
and pierces the stall, and for you, 'new construction'
means the end of it all!
Repeat Pre-Chorus:
Repeat Chorus:
End
