Such a Sad Tune They WriteA Poem by Michael StevensThe 2016 elwction![]() Verse: Jukebox is moaning out it's one
lone song, about some candidates who get
everything so wrong. Propped up by their ego's--they've
got us by the short hairs. When asked about anything
substantive, all you'll see are blank stares.
Pre-Chorus: But if you want to know about the
size of one's manhood, just look at his hands--nothing's
wrong, it's understood. Verse: They'd build a wall, or at least
keep an eye on one particular group, yes, they act less presidential,
and more like an escaped carnival troupe. The Carnival of Fear wants to play
in your town and in every corner, at least if you're a real American,
and not just some foreigner.
Pre-Chorus: So suspicion and aggression are on
the ballot. Guess we'd better get used to s**t
upon our pallet.
Chorus:
They're writing a song, Such a Sad
Tune They Write. Instead of daylight, they'd plunge
us back into night. Eternal, filled with monsters that
are waiting to pounce, and words like 'constitution', and
others, that they can't even pronounce!
Verse: So if you choose fear and
pessimism, vote them in. I'll sit and watch, as common sense
takes it on the chin. Every day, it'll be something else,
even more failure-spectacular. Don't expect an idiot to change his
stripes--this election has been most peculiar!
Repeat 2nd Pre-Chorus:
Repeat Chorus:
