Same Old Song and Dance!

Same Old Song and Dance!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Definitely NOT the Aerosmith song, not even close, both to Aerosmith, AND to a real song!

"
*Not musical in any way--severe injury will  result if you attempt to play!

Verse:

The news on T.V. is the exact same as yesterday's,

only with added crazy, screaming out over the airwaves.

I stare with a little disbelief, and a whole lot of anger--

watch peacocks strut, with no concept, and much swagger!

Pre-Chorus:

And these are the dudes who want and expect to lead?

These wanna-be' morons filled with ego, hatred, and greed?

Verse:

Heaven help us if what they want ever comes to pass.

They're all crawling in the mud--we've got us an idiot's impasse!

Clowns in a circus, they all expect us to pay full price,

to watch their half-show, like their empty promises will suffice.

Repeat Pre-Chorus:

Chorus:

I'm telling you, it's the Same Old Song and Dance.

They think we're morons that will fall under their trance.

I do so wish they'd just go away, and spare us listening,

for theirs are idiot-words--but we're Pavlov's dog at their whistling!

Verse:

Just when I think the s**t can't get any deeper,

one of them says we're all going to face the Grim Reaper,

unless we listen to the gloom and doom words they say,

voting for one of them is a sure way to the Judgment Day!

Repeat Pre-Chorus:

Repeat Chorus:

End
