To Run, Or Not To Run?

To Run, Or Not To Run?

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Yes, ANOTHER one--deal with it!

"
Verse:

Right now, I'm pondering making a run

for president of these United States--pro-gun,

check--anti-women, check, religious, check, well,

I drove by a church once, shouldn't that count, and sell

Pre-Chorus:

my candidacy to the gullible people who I'll need to deceive?

Anyone who questions me about anything, I'll just ask to leave.

Verse:

I'm willing to say and do anything to achieve my aims.

If I decide to do this, I'm in it to win the game,

and trust me, it is a game, apparently for fools.

I'll win, then give them a figurative boot in the family jewels!

Pre-Chorus:

If I run, they'll swallow my lies, hook, line and sinker.

It makes no difference to them if I ain't a deep thinker!

Chorus:

To Run, Or Not To Run, That Is The Question.

Survey says--in place of answers, I'll just use aggression.

My apologies to Shakespeare, but he's long gone anyway,

What looks good to me is not having to watch what I say!

Repeat 1st Verse:

Repeat 1st Pre-Chorus:

End
