In The Face Of Danger!

In The Face Of Danger!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Wearing rubber pants!

"

You've often heard it said, 'brave men act.'

Well--I don't have to worry about it, and that's a fact.

See, I'll fold faster than a three dollar tent in a wind storm,

I'd punch Chicken Little for his hiding spot, that's my norm.

Pre-Chorus:

Yes, that's how I roll and run.

When it comes to brave, I got none!

Verse:

When the chips are down, I wilt like a plant

with no water--you say 'stay strong,' well, I can't!

Even my shadow could beat the s**t out of me,

'Brave' and 'Mike' are two words together that you'll never see!

Repeat Pre-Chorus:

Chorus:

In The Face of Danger, I turn the other cheek.

In The Face of Danger, I panic and freak!

In The Face of Danger is somewhere alien and odd,

I'm the face of Pussville--I'll admit it--I'm a fraud!

Verse:

"I want you men to take that hill!"

My cry of fear would be loud and shrill.

"That hill? You've got to be kidding--surly you jest,

I will save myself, and the hell with all the rest!"

Repeat Pre-Chorus:

Repeat Chorus:

End
