Watching and Raging!A Story by Michael StevensVentage!![]() I've got to give myself props--do you know
how difficult it is--hell, damn near impossible, to keep your screams of
outrage darn near silent at 4.45 in the morning, when you wake suddenly and the
T.V. is on, and you promised yourself you'd never turn on Morning Joe on MSNBC,
but you stupidly do so anyway? Okay, maybe that's just me, but the fact is I
did, and let me tell you, it's damn tough! They had Rob Reiner as a guest, and
were asking him what he thought of Donald Trump (of course!), and Reiner
started to criticize the media's treating Trump like a celebrity, instead of a
candidate for president, and not asking him the tough questions (I've been
complaining about the same thing,) and both hosts, Joe and Mika, got defensive
and started talking over Rob, and each other, saying how they HAD asked him the
tough questions (I disagree, but I'm not going to type over them!) and this
kept on until they went to a commercial, mercifully, and Reiner's interview was
over. I was so upset about this, I attempted to go back to sleep, realized the
futility of that attempt, got up, and here I am, venting my frustration and
spleen, at, what, 6.10 am?
When did it become okay and professional to simply blurt out questions when you think of them, regardless of whether the guest is still speaking? I like Chris Mathews, and agree with his positions more often than not, but I cannot watch his show for that very same reason--I get so upset with his blurtage and constant interrupting, that however interested in the guest's answer I am, after about the 10th interruption to interject something Mathews just thought of, I get so frustrated and angry, I couldn't tell you what the original question was. It may be just the way things are done now days, but to me it's simply rude, unprofessional, and makes me get up at an ungodly hour to write about!* *"Morning Joe" did try to ask Trump tough questions, but he refused to answer them! © 2016 Michael Stevens |
