Road to Suckerville!

Road to Suckerville!

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Born under a bad road sign!

"

I'm always falling for lamest, and most obvious,

to being a little light in the head-loafers, I'm quite oblivious!

Can't you see, "sap!" written on my forehead?

I'll believe anything--I'll believe whatever's been said.

Got a hot pepper concession in the Sahara? I'll invest, sure!

I'm the ultimate Mr. Gullible--Mr. 'Really, Clark?', as it were.

Unlike 'Christmas Vacation' this is real life, not a picture show.

I can't walk out blinking in the sunlight after two hours, and go

home after this baby--nope, I've got a non-refundable ticket

to this show, and I am here for the duration--so I'd better get

to taking a hell of a lot less taking the Boulevard De Face Value,

and travel a lot more with my eyes wide open on Skeptical Avenue!

I write for fun; I write comedy pieces and some dramatic stuff. I have no formal writing education, and I have a fear of being told I suck, and maybe I should give up on writing, and get a job makin.. more..
