One Step From a Pile!

One Step From a Pile!

A Story by Michael Stevens
"

Song lyrics--okay, not GOOD song lyrics, but...!

"

Verse:

Ever have one of those days--

When your good luck vanishes in the haze,

and your shoe becomes a magnet for sidewalk bombs

left by Fido, and that little voice expresses qualms.

Pre-Chorus:

But you ignore it, and go plowing through the grass,

I'm figuratively speaking, of course--a glop you amass.

Verse:

A figurative huge glop of s**t on your shoe, that you track

into the house, and you dose-e-'doh!' across the carpet and back

again before you notice the smell--and then by looking your fears

are confirmed--a Hansel and Gretel trail of s**t-crumbs to your shoe adheres.

Pre-Chorus:

And it's ground in, deep into the carpet fibers,

and your day of bad luck comes screaming down the wires!

Chorus:

One step from disaster, One Step From a Pile,

and when you see it, your jaw drops a mile!

It's one of those days, there's s**t on your shoes,

bad luck, worse luck, and there ain't a lot you can do!

Verse:

Nothing goes right, nothing works out like you'd planned.

You should have just stayed home and buried your head in the sand,

but, you didn't, and it's much too late for that,

and now just look what your s**t-covered shoe begat!

Repeat 2nd Pre-Chorus:

Repeat Chorus:

End
