The Howdy Doody Boys!

The Howdy Doody Boys!

A Story by Michael Stevens
"

a suck-puppet show!

"
Verse:

No longer any doubt, the government isn't about

doing the people's business anymore, but I seriously doubt

any of them will admit it--no, they've been bought and paid for

by The NRA, for one--well I say we declare war,

Pre-Chorus:

war on a tiny minority holding sway

over we the majority--for it's bullshit they bray.

Verse:

Ninety percent of us want some changes made,

but these mostly Republicans are too afraid

of going against their NRA overseers,

while we the people's wishes disappear.

Pre-Chorus:

And the media does their part.

to hasten this stab through our hearts.

Chorus:

'Hi, kids, we're The Howdy Doody Boys,

our collective puppets dance to big-business noise,

never mind we're supposed to enact your will.

We look away as many more innocents are killed."

Verse:

A puppet jamboree as corporation's pull the strings.

No longer even the pretense of peasants controlling kings.

It's all too obvious anymore to be denied.

At least we can say we were there when democracy died.

Repeat 2nd Pre-Chorus:

Repeat Chorus:

End
