Insanity At The Gates!A Story by Michael StevensBe careful what you wish for, some of you!![]() Self-aggrandizing
is the process of claiming past accomplishments or attributes about one's self
that promote one's self. Typically, these claims stretch the truth or may even
be outright lies. Someone with
delusions of grandeur would make self-aggrandizing claims--synonyms-- complete
idiot--massive unchecked ego dick/sack--throbbing tool boy--Donald Trump
Insanity At The Gates
Verse:
Creeping, silently creeping up
slowly at first, but gathering speed and with a
frightening burst, the wolf's in the hen house,
breaking down the door, this one's self-inflicted--and not
far away anymore.
Pre-Chorus:
Lead by a carnival barker who
shouts before he thinks, oh, the nasty s**t that he spews
from his jaw-flapping larynx.
Verse:
Infected friends and neighbors say
how great he is, yet he would fail even the simplest
sanity quiz. What is it about him I fail to
understand? He's a beady-eyed,
self-aggrandizing, ego-driven man.
Repeat Pre-Chorus:
Chorus:
Beware, people, it's Insanity At
The Gates. By following this ferret-haired
pied piper, our fate's going down the shitter--don't
listen at your peril. It'll be like going over Niagara
Falls, without the barrel.
Verse:
Not that that would help you much,
but still, it's a chance. Wish I could slap America and say,
'wake up from this trance! For it's inexplicable to me--like
lemmings, we're going off the cliff. We'll learn the truth, the awful answer to the
question, 'what if?'
Repeat Pre-Chorus:
Repeat Chorus:
End
