Lemmings

Lemmings

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

It's not too late

"
On a death ward march toward our sad fate,
but unlike Lemmings, it's not too late

and unlike Lemmings, we have a choice,
not to listen to the siren's call of a hate-filled voice,

but only if we cling to reason and logic,
and reject the talk that's so hyperbolic,

trying to drive a wedge between us all,
Reject the panicked and be fearful call!

Don't let yourself be pushed like a zombie,
towards that cliff--it's not too late--hear my plea.
