No RespectA Story by Michael StevensVirtual flag burnimg![]() Another example of a misguided sense of outrage. Colin Kaepernick, the quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, refused to stand for the national anthem, citing outrage at the way black are treated in our society. While he may have a valid point, showing such blatant disrespect for the symbol of our country amounts to a virtual flag burning. If he felt strongly about it, as he must, there are other ways to show your outrage. It's no t like he doesn't have any voice outside of doing what he did. All he had to do was speak his mind, and millions of fans would see it, almost instantly. Are you telling me that the major news networks wouldn't be all over that? He showed zero respect for the country that allows his turn playing a game into millions of dollars. In my book, that's unacceptable. © 2016 Michael Stevens |
