Willful Deafness-Gate!

My explanation for the inexplicable

I will now attempt an Evil Kneivel type jump,

over the Grand Canyon, as I try to understand Trump,

or more accurate, the people who see anything good, and

revel in the hatred he spews like the sprinkler of the damned.

I realize at my keyboard writing this, it's more about us than about the guy.

He's just a sad symptom of the disease, there are many reasons why.

Those of you who think he's the answer, to any of our many troubles,

have lost sight of the truth, we're now two distinct camps, as civility crumbles.

I've given up trying to talk rationally, and of talking common sense,

because they don't believe in either, or facts, their deafness is immense.

It's hard to argue when they don't want get into an honest debate,

about the truth, because the don't believe it, I call it Willful Deafness-Gate!
