Voluntary Rudeness Blackout!

Voluntary Rudeness Blackout!

A Story by Michael Stevens
"

What I WON'T be watching tonight!

"

Tonight, I may be the only American not glued to the television, with a can of stout malt liquor in one hand, a bowl of popcorn in another, and the T. V. remote in the last. For I cannot stomach listening to a man who uses the Chris Matthews playbook, interrupting, interjecting his thoughts whenever he feels he has something to say. The only difference is, Mathews HAS something to say, often, whereas Trump interrupts simply because he apparently can't stand anything negative being said about him, much like an elementary school-age person would react, who doesn't understand that's how debates work. I WANT to watch, but I would fear I'd test the T. V. remote's aerodynamic qualities, and just how strong the T. V. screen is. And so, as much as I feel like I'm missing an event, like a passerby observing a train wreck, for the good of my sanity, or at least what's left of it, I think I'll watch something, anything, else. Besides, for weeks after the debate, I'll be able to see the whole thing anyway, on every cable news show, whether I want to, or not!
