Thought Is On The Ballot

Thought Is On The Ballot

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Nov. 8th

"

Come November 9th, after the election, will thought and reason

still be how we do things, or will it be the start of the idiot season?

Cause it's not listed, but Thought is On The Ballot, and the choice is ours,

will it be about healing, or making still-more outlandish scars?

November 8th could be the beginning of the end,

it's all on you, what will be the message we send?

The rest of the word is watching, not believing what they

see.

The greatest country in the world is maybe about to be

reduced to a bad parody of what made it great to begin

with,

unless common sense rules the day--or God forbid,

we elect a compete ugly-hearted, unfunny clown

in which case, thinking, like the Hindenburg, is going down.
