Einstein's Ghost

Einstein's Ghost

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Looking down on disaster

"
Old Albert is looking down in stunned disbelief at our unbelievable political season,

he's finally witnessed the stake though the heart of

wondering and reason.

It's thoughtful competence, vs. knee jerk idiotic,

meaningless rhetoric.

Calm and cool, measured logic, vs. egotistical revenge,

pathetic.

He never ever thought in a million years he'd see this day,

it makes him sort of glad that he's spared the shame and

passed away.

This election marks the official end to I.Q.--to thinking at

all,

and he's glad he didn't live to see the mighty intelligence

fall.

He looks down with such wonderment and keen distaste,

on the idiot's mask some people wear to disguise their

face,

at the ridicule and the sense of distrust with which some

view thinking.

He says to himself how our brains must be shrinking,

and turns away from having to watch anymore of this

absolute train wreck

that serves as our politics, where thoughtful and stupidity

are neck and neck.
