Words as a Weapon

Words as a Weapon

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Your weapon of choice?

"
Inspired by a Hullabaloo22 idea:

Aerodynamic words slice through the air,

search for their hapless target, it's totally unfair.

They're just ordinary words, but filed to a point,

by an angry someone with their nose out of joint.

A vindictive someone with hurt on their mind,

uses hateful words of the jagged kind.

Words as a weapon can scar your brain,

and slowly, or quickly, drive you insane

No training is required to use this particular weapon,

there's no chance to fight back, and nowhere to run.

Eviscerated by harsh language, you bleed in the gutter,

Why, oh why, do we do this to one another?
