Reality is Optional

Reality is Optional

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

The warping of the truth

"
Reality is subjective, reflective, depending on your objective,

I guess. Crazy Town has become Main Street, the

domain of the detective.

That's the problem, some of us aren't willing to put in

the effort

or aren't interested in what is true, when a 30-second

soundbite, of the sort

we are getting from our new Commander-in-Chief,

has warped what is real

into the political equivalent of a drive-through Happy

Meal.

Not very nutritious, but tasty, and it comes in a

colorful bag,

because the cook has set on a four-year anti-reality

jag.

Reality's now optional, the hard truth is now flexible.

That seems a lot to me as incomprehensible.

The things that some believe to be true,

is now the number two in the Ego-Funhouse

Restaurant drive-thru!
