5-Alarm Emergency

5-Alarm Emergency

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

"Danger, Will Robinson!"

"

Somebody call the bomb squad, call the police,

for every time the man speaks, the dangers increase.

Does anyone else feel the urgency, the dire threat?

Democracy's in trouble, about as bad as trouble gets.

We need to act, now, and don't let him get away

with the un-American game he's playing, we all need

to say

'that's unacceptable'-for he's trying to kill freedom of

the press,

one of the sacred things that sets us apart, and yet

the media does acquiesce,

because they've created this monster, now out of

control

He's playing the part of a third-world dictator, and

we're losing our soul

by just accepting his dangerous rhetoric at face value,

when he has two,

one of which lies like at the drop of a hat--if he's

allowed, before he is through,

he'll drag America down to his level, where reside

delusions.

We cant stand idly by, and agree with his simplistic

conclusions.

His other face he uses to be wrong, and vindictive,

much like a fifth grader, he's taking, and it's us who

give.

We must stand up to him and his childish ways,

or I'm afraid what's ahead are only desolate days.
