Describing the clown show!

"
Came into its own during the Iraq War. Been resting on their laurels a bit since, but then they've morphed into entertainment, they're not interested in hard news; oh, sure, they say all the right things, and hope we won't notice, but a few of us remember what it was like when Walter, John, Edward and all the rest treated news with respect, not as the clown show it has become; one of the prerequisites for reporters now is they must have their own floppy shoes, lapel squirt gun flower, and be able to juggle while riding a unicycle. Having a journalism degree is all well and good, but journalism doesn't sell air time, while sensationalism and a freak show do. And they're not alone in the fight for the broadcast dollar, it's ALL of them; it's a race to the bottom. I'm past the age of being a target for advertising, and I'm not yet old enough, I guess, but how about real news, not The Ringling Brothers? True, The Ringling Brother's Circus just went tits up. At least they were smart enough to see the writing on the wall!
