We're All Nero'sA Poem by Michael Stevens'La, La, La, La, La!'![]() We're
All Nero's!
From my window, I see the neighbor lady undressing-- no, I see the world is in serious trouble; I'm sensing
a restlessness, a vague wishing that something needs to change, exactly what doesn't matter, just something, as long as they're out of range
when the repercussions happen, and rest assured, there will be repercussions. And you can't argue with them, it's a very discourteous discussion.
I guess in a way, we're all Nero's; playing the fiddle while the world burns, about to make the same mistakes all over again; we never seem to learn.
Momentarily we righted the ship, after taking a hard right, but now it looks like our discordant fate fills our sight.
The warning signs are there for all to see, yet we are blind, stumbling around in the dark, hoping we run into whatever we hope to find!
