Things I Never Thought I'd Say

A Story by Michael Stevens

Ham on the wing!

"
On the 'Today' show, was a stark reminder of what is terribly wrong with our national picture. I saw Porky take to the sky on his stubby, but powerful wing-legs. That b*****d is flapping to beat the band! President Bush was on, promoting his new book, 'Portraits In Courage' I think it is called, a collection of paintings he made of wounded veterans. Besides being quite good, it also made me long for those days when he was president. I think what he said that resonated with me the most was that a free press was 'essential' to our system of government and way of life. He also said that even though he hated some of what they said about him, they helped hold him accountable. He said what I've been saying myself, that a free press is one of the thing that makes us great as a country, and The Dumper's attacking and ridiculing the very idea of a free press.

I was no fan of Bushie when he was in office, but at least he acted and sounded like a president, for the most part. I hated some of his--okay, most, of his policies, but Dump? I physically projectile at the sight of him, or sound of his voice. I didn't think it was possible for a man that arrogant and stupid to even have a chance, let alone win. It's been just over a month since he was sworn in, and I've been proven tragically wrong about that. Speaking of swearing, that's what I do when I catch a glimpse of him (and trying NOT to is an impossibility, the b*****d's everywhere!)
