From Across The Miles

From Across The Miles

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Friendship unattended, for Vidya

"
From across the miles comes your absence
From across the miles comes your memory
Slender threads left too long in the rain
Broken for eternity because of me
No excuse beyond forgetting, inattention
No excuse

Your poem is a poignant reflection on the pain of loss and regret. The idea that someone's absence can be felt across the miles is a powerful one, and your use of imagery - slender threads left too long in the rain - is particularly effective. The idea that the threads are broken for eternity because of you suggests a deep sense of regret and guilt, and the line "no excuse beyond forgetting, inattention" reinforces this idea. Overall, I think your poem is beautifully written and captures the emotions of loss and regret in a powerful way.

Michael, you said a handful in the amazing poetry.

I adored the above lines. I could write a epic tale from. I like myth and tale. The threads weaved for us. Are easily broken. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
