Wishing On Stars

Wishing On Stars

A Poem by Bo Lanier

Well there's more to me than meets the eye

But it seems like nobody cares about all the

Beauty on the inside only how you look on

The outside and I'm so tired of all the players

And all their games, it’s enough, it’s enough to

Give up on what some people call true love

Oh but I know, I know I could never give up

On a happily ever after storybook ending kind

Of love...

Maybe I'm just a dreamer from an era long

Gone, when holding hands really meant

Something and a kiss was a feeling from

The heart...

Well maybe I'm old school, a hopeless romantic

The few of us still alive 'cuz deep down inside

I still believe there's someone for everyone

Even me but will I know it when it finally

Happens to me, dear God I'm tired of being

So lonely and all alone.

So tell me how long can I go on just

WISHING ON STARS oh don't you know it's

Hard, it’s really hard on the heart...

Maybe someday soon I will find my soul mate

But I still can't help from wondering how long

How long will it take until that special someone?

Comes along oh Lord 'cuz I'm so tired, so damn

Tired of just WISHING ON STARS!
