Man of Summer

Man of Summer

A Poem by Bo Lanier

Hot is the MAN OF SUMMER

Oh lover after lover

He struts his stuff like a peacock

Proud of what he's got and

Everybody wants what he's got

But when he is finished with you

He rides his bike into the wild blue

Yonder summers 'cuz he's just a man

MAN OF SUMMER...

Maybe someday he'll learn there's

More to life than sex, drugs and

Rock-n-roll but right now you can't

Tell him nothing, no 'cuz he knows

Everything but it's not his fault,

It’s in his jeans if you know what I

Mean and he's got the fever down

Below in the heat of the night 'cuz

He’s just a man, a MAN OF SUMMER...

Making his way from bar to bar

Getting drunker than cutter brown but

That doesn't slow him down 'cuz after

He’s finished with you he back on

His bike looking for another lover,

Hotter than a pepper sprout 'cuz he's

Just a man, a MAN OF SUMMER!

Too many men of summer in this world...

Very nicely put. I like the clear addressing of these kinds of people.

Keep Dreaming ^^
