Just a California Boy

Just a California Boy

A Poem by Bo Lanier

Down by the seashore I sit and dream watching the waves rolling in from sunrise to sunset today again. I think about you and wonder how you are getting along in Tennessee singing your country songs? You know I still wish the very best for you even tho I couldn't compete with your dreams that doesn't mean I harbor any resentment towards you, although I'd be a liar if I said I didn't care if it wasn't still you and me but after all you are what you are and I'm Just A California Boy Still I hope you still remember our time together in San Diego. Well I'll never forget you no matter how many love affairs come and go, I told you years ago you'd always have two warm arms to give you refuge from the cold and lonely rain that often falls in Tennessee. You're still the ruler of my heart baby but all in all you are what you are and I'm Just A California Boy...I know you deserve better than me but please baby please don't ever forget me and your once upon a time California Boy... You were destined to be stars honey how I could compete with that I'm Just a California Boy nothing but A California Boy...
