Midnight Angel

Midnight Angel

A Poem by Bo Lanier

Oh Midnight Angel higher than a kite
throw your clothes and a few things together
and drive your new car like a bird in flight
back across the Georgia state line whatever
the weather never you mind you know
every time could be your last time...take a deep
breath now and swallow your pride 'cuz you
know they know you better than you know
yourself well it tears you up on the inside
living in the shadows and pretending to be
somebody else...you call him the one and
the one you think you can hide behind and
of course he'd do anything for you but it
goes without saying you're just taking advantage
of him like you do all the time well will you
ever see the light Midnight Angel lost in flight
come in out of the darkness for the love of
your life...Midnight Angel!
