Til The Rooster Crows

Til The Rooster Crows

A Poem by Bo Lanier

Down on the farm there's not a

Whole lot to do but work your fingers

To the bone that's why when all

The lights go off in this one

Horse town mine stay on 'til you

Come a knockin' on my window...

Well I sneak out outta the house

And we disappear from dusk 'til

Dawn, kissing, hugging and loving

Whether down in the corn

Fields, in the old red barn or in

The warm pond waters, we just

Can’t keep our hands off each

Other and it's been that way

Since I can remember even when

We were kids we'd play house

Or doctor or any other game

We could dream up that had

Some kind of hands on stuff

Oh the best of friends, the best

Of lovers but now that we're

Older it feels ten times better...

We both could have had our choice

Of this one or that one down

The road but we made our choice

Long, long ago and here we go

Again kissing, hugging and a loving

On each other...every night by the

Moon’s shadow Till the Rooster

Crows, 'Til the Rooster Crows!
