ACT 7 - The Battle of Sekigahara (Part 2: Hideyoshi's Downfall)

Sekigahara now is in the state of war. A war between Tokugawa Ieyasu and the Toyotomi clan (Particularly Toyotomi Hideyoshi.) In the distance, you can see two warriors fighting with the skill of their blades. Their blades clashed, but neither one of them was going down easily.

 

"You're good......as expected from the great leader of the ninja..." Ishida said.

 

"You're not half bad as well......." Nami-Rei replied.

 

They we're still fighting. Nami-Rei noticed that it was starting to rain.

 

"Rain.....an implication of death......" Nami-Rei thought.

 

Ishida now charged at him. Nami-Rei noticed that Ishida was now tired. He now attacked him with full speed until he fell to the ground.

Ishida, now immobilized, was helplessly lying on the wet ground.

 

"A warrior.....is true to his nation....*cough* and to the ideals of it....." Ishida said.

 

"Then why did you rebel?" Nami-Rei asked.

 

"Hideyoshi....promised us.....*cough* a great nation.......of equality...." Ishida replied.

 

"He won't deliver your promise." Nami-Rei said.

 

"What.....makes you say... that? *cough*" Ishida asked. The right side if his face now is covered with blood.

 

"Do you think that he, a traitor, is capable of building a nation of equality?" Nami-Rei asked.

 

Ishida did not answer.

 

"And....you are wrong....A warrior is true to himself....and to what he believes in....." Nami-Rei said.

 

"THEN WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE THEN?! WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR THE GOVERNMENT THAT IS UNJUST?!!!! " Ishida screamed.

 

"WHY THE HELL ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR THE CORRUPTION HUH?!!! ANSWER ME!!!!" Ishida added.

 

"Because, that's just how the world wants it....." Nami-Rei said as he left Ishida's dying body.

 

The Imperial army has now weakened the defenses of Hideyoshi. His numbers are dwindling down.

 

"He is now cornered!!!! NOW FINISH THE REST OF HIS SOLDIERS!!!" Ieyasu commanded.

 

THey now have the upper hand and Hideyoshi's soldiers are now dwindling in number. But still Hideyoshi is nowhere to be found.

 

Meanwhile Hideyoshi is now running towards the outskirts of Sekigahara. He used a secret passage from the caverns below.

 

"They won't find me here.... I will escape and form a new army and I will challenge the Empire again." he said.

 

"I won't be so sure about that." a voice said.

 

Hideyoshi looked  and he saw Nami-Rei in front of him.

 

"Bu-But....ho-how did you.." Hideyoshi muttered.

 

"I sensed your energy......you are a coward Hideyoshi.....leaving your army to die while you run." Nai-Rei replied.

 

"What choice do I have? I don't want to die!!!" Hideyoshi replied.

 

"It is better to die with honor." Nami-Rei added

 

Hideyoshi had nothing. He was helpless now and then.

 

"Commit seppuku now and you shall still have your honor.....I will help you..." Nami-Rei said.

 

Hideyoshi did not listen and still ran away. Nami-Rei catched up to him and took him down. He now looked at Nami-Rei as the ninja drew his sword.

 

"There is still chance....commit seppuku now and you will regain your honor." Nami-Rei said.

 

"There is no honor in this nation.....even if I commit seppuku. For there is always betrayal." Hideyoshi said.

 

"I'll tell you Ieyasu is the reason why I rebelled. His reforms were not the ideals of the people. And in the Shizugatake war... he was the one who sent the resistance. You see, it was all part of his plan to become the heir to the throne." Hideyoshi explained.

 

Nami-Rei was shocked from what he heard.

 

"Who's to say that he won't betray you too? He already betrayed all of Japan. HE SOLD US OUT!!!" Hideyoshi said.

 

"All of you are the same....powerhungry politicians. You already lost your honor from the day you were born." Nami-Rei said as he handed a small knife to Hideyoshi.

 

"This is your chance to regain your honor." Nami-Rei added.

 

Hideyoshi now holding the knife said.

 

"Honor for myself....no.. for Japan." Hideyoshi said.

 

He stabbed himself in the stomach and sliced it repeatedly. Nami-Rei now beheaded him.

 

"Your honor has now been restored..." Nami-Rei said.

 

The Imperial army has now conquered Sekigahara and there are no more Hideyoshi soldiers in sight. Ieyasu still did not know that Hideyoshi is already dead.

 

Nami-Rei now reunited with the Imperial army he reported that Hideyoshi was killed by one of the Imperial soldiers.

 

"BROTHERS!!! WE HAVE ACHIEVED VICTORY!!!! WE HAVE REUNITED JAPAN ONCE AGAIN!!!!" Ieyasu said

 

All of the soldiers were shouting with joy because of their victory. Nami-Rei was still looking far out  the horizon.

 

"Toyotomi Hideyoshi.....you shan't have die in vain....." He thought as the Imperial troups begun marching back to the Imperial palace.
