It was still dark outside when the girl woke up. The alarm had not yet rung, so she had time. The girl lay there for what felt like hours, staring into the dark. She took the time to think. She thought about everything - her family, her friends, her past, her present, and her future. She thought about the happy times and she thought about that times at which she wanted everything to end. And then she thought of the one day that had changed her life. That one evening in the park.
Reading read like a list of things to do. Try adding details that we can see, feel and touch. It helps to think the reader is blind. Another thing to do make this first page an idea wha this story is about. Very, very glad to see this is written in thrid person. Moving on to next page.
