The present is here
Real love and no tears
The past is just that
Old memories won’t last
Though he is no longer near
I have nothing to fear …

The feelings are gone
We never belonged
It wasn’t for real
My heart was not touched!
Life can still be agog
Despite the shadows of my past.

Tate, I like your other picture (with wife) better, you appear happier. Just my opinion. About the chances... we all have to make the best out of them, learn from bad experiences, fix what can be fixed and bury the bad memories for good. Then, enjoy the new beginnings.
The poem is from my YA novel. She had been infatuated with her literature professor but, after meeting Bryant... the rest is more than novelesque. BTW, you always comment on the meaning of my writings but, do you like them? Thanks for visiting and commenting and may you always be in high spirits.
