THE WINTER OF MY SOUL

THE WINTER OF MY SOUL

A Poem by Barbara Lynne
"

living in the deep chill of your soul

The Winter Of My Soul

Why does this season have to end

This time of magic and mystery

Feelings change, the cold sets in

Yesterday is history

What once felt warm and comfortable

Now is cold as the winters snow

The embers that kept my heart warm

Where they have gone I do not know

Sadness wraps herself around me

Like a blanket made of thorns

The memory of a sweet season

Is the reason my heart mourns

For now the warmth of yesterday

No longer can I console

I live in the bitter emptiness

In the winter of my soul

In the winter of a life. We must be thankful for the good friends and family. Age can bring desire for forgiveness and make us wish for day that we wish to repeat. I believe a good and kind heart allow the winter of life to be good. If we are lucky we will have grandchild at our feet. laughter and family to give us peace. Thank you for a excellent poem.

I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
