FOREVER AT LAST

FOREVER AT LAST

A Poem by Barbara Lynne
"

two lovers finally together

"

FOREVER AT LAST

Could this really be happening

At this late stage in my life?

That he should lovingly ask me

To be his bride, his wife?

His gentle ways amaze me

And his voice, it whispers low

He is always so attentive

He knows I can't say no

He's given me his shoulder

His thoughts and now his hand

My heart pounds with anticipation

For I'll wear his wedding band

He's been part of me forever

He's the one that holds my heart

Just thinking of his tenderness

Makes tears of happiness start

I know our love is forever

I feel it deep inside of me

To fade it will not happen

It's here for all eternity

So as we take each others hand

Standing together, side by side

I'll proudly call him “husband”

As he takes my as his “bride”

About
I have been writing poems and songs since I was a young girl. Sometimes it is easier to say how you feel and what you dream in a poem or song than it is face to face. I appreciate all comments and t.. more..
