ANOTHER GLASS OF WINEA Poem by Barbara Lynnethe emptiness of being aloneAnother Glass Of Wine The fire is burning softly The music's playing low The smell of popcorn fills the room The candles all a glow Sounds of winter can be heard On the windows and the door I snuggle on the fur rug Fill my glass of wine once more I watch the embers dancing With colors yellow and red Silence echos in the room For not a word is said Another glass of wine is gone Mellow now is my tone Sadness fills my empty heart As I sit here all alone But then I slowly close my eyes And dream you're here with me Fantasy opens my every thought Enables my mind to see I can touch your face with tenderness Kiss your lips and hold you tight I can lay down right beside you Make love with you all night But then the dream comes to an end As the dark night turns to day How I wish that dream was real For in your arms I'd stay I know it's only a fantasy The wine helps me to see This dream's not real, it can't come true Alone I'm meant to be
