THE RIVER DOGA Poem by Barbara Lynnemy families hot dog stand...destroyed by hurricane IreneTHE RIVER DOG It wasn't just a hot dog stand It was so much more than that People came from all around To sit and eat and chat The view was more than beautiful The food was at it's best To provide for all that joined us Was the River Dog's main quest The River Dog, the Coney Dog The Long Dog and the fries The burgers, onion rings and lobsters I can still hear satisfied “sighs” And don't forget the Saturday nights With “live music” for your pleasure Fund raisers, singers and musicians Will be a memory for us to treasure Hurricane Irene may have “won” for now But please make no mistake The friendships and the memories Is the one thing “she'll” never take!
