"

Crash, screech, shatter, skid

Metal grating on pavement

Screams penetrate the tranquility

Head heavy, red obscuring her vision

 

She looks to her left, to her friend

Seat empty, sirens screaming

Door opens, hands grabbing, people speaking

Fear consumes her, her friend is unmoving

The repulsive vision always lives in her shadow
