NIGHT TERRORSA Poem by Nancy Lee ShraderNIGHT TERRORS Darkness comes in shadows, along the crystal lake, Speaking of lost innocence that came too soon Carrying each disheartened thought far past the mind Darkness slurps up the shadows, stealing all the light Sending hope of promise to the neverending blackness Lost in melancholy dreams of a forgotten love Darkness consumes all happiness, leaving only sadness in its wake Draining the spark of stars that used to shine in darkened sky Sky looms heavy stifling each labored breath Darkness swells the heart to burst deep within the chest Halting life's beating sound as silence fills the air Waking from night terrors gasping for breath Darkness takes a backseat when eyes come full awake Light spills in from every side as the moon takes up its space Stars have found their sparkling power and its finally known Darkness in this nightmare that intended to take control Sleep is overrated when nightmares consumes the mind Insomnia is a blessing when darkness devours all light © 2008 Nancy Lee ShraderReviews
