Fruitcakes! Fruitcakes! Fruitcakes!
In all shapes and size
Come from the family matriarchs
And will be my Christmas demise
Mom brought hers yesterday
Aunt Alma sent hers today
Aunt Ruby’s will be here soon
Grandma and Aunt Ella’s are on the way
It seems that every one sends a fruitcake
At this yuletide season of the year
All believe their fruitcake is the best
And know they will all asked together is my fear
Alma and Ruby learned from Ella
Mom learned from Grandma too
But Grandma and Aunt Ella
Made fruitcakes together, it’s true
So which one is the best, who’s to say
They all four taste the same to me
So what do I do now?
I know, I’ll do a taste test to see
It won’t be me doing the tasting
I will appoint the four to be judge
If they can tell one from the other
I’ll relax and just eat Christmas fudge
