Icicles

Icicles

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Icicles

Icicles

Excerpt from Mother Nature

Icicles shimmer in the light of the sun
Glistening like diamonds before winter’s done
Wrapping each house in gleaming design
Not seeming sinister, hanging in line
Suddenly one falls stabbing the ground
Its beauty fades, I now look around
Which one will fall next and where will it land?
Maybe right here, right where I stand
I dare not look up, protecting my eyes.
Covering my head I noticed their size
Once safely inside, I reach for the broom
And remove those daggers of stabbing doom

this is entered in my contest...I absolutly love it and it is in the finals....but the one line that stopped the flow for me was this...

"Which one will fall next and where will it land?
Maybe right where I stand"

if you could equal out the stall I think the poem would flow better
