An Ox On A Box

An Ox On A Box

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

An Ox On A Box

A kit a cat in a box

A pup a dog on a rug

See a kit and a cat

On a rug in a box

If the kit and the cat

Had a rug

Was the pup and the dog

In the box or the kit and the cat

Was the pup and the dog

On a rug too in a box

Two or one rug

Or two or one box

Or kit cat pup dog

On a rug in the box

Kit cat pup dog saw

A big red fox

The kit and the cat ran

Pup and the dog ran out of the box

Ran off the rug

See the fox get in the box

Kit, cat, pup, dog saw

The fox ran out of the box

And saw a big fat ox

Sit on the run and the box

The dog and pup had not rug or box

The kit and the cat had not rug or box

No rug or box for the fox

The ox had the rug and the box
