Ballerina Fair

Ballerina Fair

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Ballerina Fair

I dance upon my toes

Practicing every day

For the Christmas show

Since the month of May

Sugar Plum Fairies dance

Around me on the stage

Toy soldiers bring up the rear

Like the turning of a page

I’m a Nutcracker ballerina

I’m the ballerina fair

A magical Christmas moment

On my toes with flair

This magical night I’ll remember

When sugar plums fill the air

I danced into their hearts

As the ballerina fair

What a treasure! I thoroughly enjoyed your poem. When I was little I wanted to be a ballerina. I love going to the ballet and The Nutcracker is amazing to behold. Well written as always!
