Queen Malondra' WorldA Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
Queen Malondra’s World Gothic warlords stand guard Malondra takes Zander’s hand Walking through the garden In their magical land Royal birds sing A sweet serenade Rustling branches Always giving shade A picturesque archway Adorned all in gold Has outlasted the universe From times of old Six golden arches Encircle the shrine God’s brilliant radiance Kisses each vine A golden staircase Completes the view A place almost like heaven Surrounded in greenish hue Zander is king Of all he surveys Malondra will be his queen In only four days In her left hand She carries a prophet’s staff She knows the future That’s why she can’t laugh Winds of war will engulf This newly crowned queen She sees the destruction In her prophet’s mind it’s seen Soon they will flee To a world faraway Lost in a time warp A place of decay Echoes of the past Will fill her young mind She’ll see the two suns Shining in orange design Pink and purple sunsets She’ll carry away In her heart is where They will always stay They’ll search in the darkness Until it they do find People like them Of the same kind A new home for their people For Zander and a shared throne For Malondra much love For she’ll never be alone © 2008 Nancy Lee ShraderAuthor's Note
